Alkaline Trio - Snake Oil Tanker (Acoustic Version)
Merry Christmas everybody.
Top Five Matt Skiba Pickslides!!!

Matt Skiba fucking loves to pickslide! It’s rad, so here’s my Top 10 5 pickslides as performed by Matt Skiba in the 12 years of Alkaline Trio’s existence. Enjoy!
In no order:
-
Trucks And Trains (From Here To Infirmary, 2002)
Well this one is stone cold rad. Just before the last chorus at about 2:39 onwards to 2:44. Rad song. Used to be on CBBC’s Short Change too. Listen Here.
-
Goodbye Forever (I Lied My Face Off EP, 1999)
Another amazing one. Is this post dripping with sarcasm yet? And at a mere 0:15 seconds in, it kicks in and Skiba sings obviously. Watch Here.
-
Cop (Goddamnit, 1998)
Second track into Goddamnit. We instantly kick the song off with a chord then a slide/scratch thing from like 0:05 seconds in, followed by about 4 actual slides! Fucking rad. The bass noodling’s cool too. Listen Here.
-
Warbrain (Rock Against Bush, 2004)
Undoubtedly one of the Trio’s best songs. A real storm de force (Pitchfork talk.) After the diary bollocks, it kicks in at 0:20 and then kick ass riffage. I CANT GO ONNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Watch Here.
-
Metro (Another Year On The Streets, 2002)
A cover. One with about 4 pickslides! First one at 0:40. Then again at 1:35, 2:23, where else? Oh yeah… 3:17. Listen Here.
That’s all for today fagatrons!
