Shit Review of a Good Book Review #1: Let It Be by Colin Meloy
Colin Meloy of The Decemberists wrote a book for the 33 1/3 collection a few years ago. The collection is a series of books where a known personality writes about the effect a certain band had on them. He chose Let It Be by The Replacements. His account begins as a child of about 10 getting into rock music and more notably The Replacements and how Let It Be shaped him. A pretty autobiographical book, this does more than just discuss the statement of “I THOUGHT THAT THE REPLACEMENTS R00LD!!!1”, it lets you into his childhood, upbringing and the family issues to go along with it. I picked this up in Waterstones last week for a cool £6 and you should too.
